The Betelgeuse Shipyards Leviathan has been in service since long before the Republic existed. Although considered today to be an outdated and clunky model, it is still a force to be reckoned with.

Performance Information[]
The Leviathan is the biggest civilian warship available for purchase at the beginning of the game. The civilian Kestrel and Bactrian are stronger vessels, however they both require special quest lines in order to access them.
As a Betelgeuse ship, the Leviathan is accurately described by various characters as being an aged hulk. However, the Leviathan can prove to be very dangerous in the right hands. The ship's slow engines are compensated for by its long reach: Particle Cannons are both accurate and deadly at a distance.
The Leviathan is wielded by pirates across the galaxy to decent effect. Notably, pirates will sometimes use a variant that strips the Particle Cannons for a battery of Heavy Lasers, making them very deadly at close range.
For a player, the Leviathan is a decent vessel. Compared to the Falcon the Leviathan has slower starting engines, less overall engine space, slightly less cargo space, no built-in missile or torpedo launchers, and a high shipyard price tag. However, the Leviathan also has an overall larger outfit capacity, therefore allowing for more overall customization, especially if the player has access to space-efficient Hai outfits. Also, the smaller crew on the Leviathan can be helpful for players without a steady tribute income, as the ship will cost less in the long run compared to a Falcon.
